Iceland - Cup

I recently read the book "Iceland-Cup" by Icelandic author Halldor Laxness, and I have to say that it truly captivated me from start to finish.
The story follows the protagonist, Steinn Elliði, a young man who has aspirations of becoming a poet and escaping the mundane life of his small Icelandic village. He embarks on a journey to Reykjavik to attend a literary contest and along the way, he encounters a myriad of characters and experiences that shape his outlook on life.
One of the aspects that stood out to me in this novel was the vivid descriptions of the Icelandic landscapes. Laxness paints a picture of the stark beauty of the country, from the rugged cliffs to the icy waters, which served as a stark contrast to the internal struggles of the characters.
