Cricket

Cricket is a bat-and-ball game played between two teams of eleven players on a cricket field, at the center of which is a rectangular 22-yard-long pitch with a wicket, a set of three wooden stumps sited at each end. The game is adjudicated by two umpires, aided by a third umpire and match referee in international matches. The objective of the game is to score runs by hitting the ball with a cricket bat and running between the wickets, while the opposing team fields and tries to prevent this.
I recently read a book about cricket and I was captivated by the history, rules, and strategies of this sport.
